Jürgen Poesche, D.Sc. (Econ.), LL.D, L.Sc. (Tech.), will defend the dissertation “Legitimization of Science and Technology: From the French Pragmatic Sociology” on 9 February 2015 at 12 noon in lecture hall TU2, Otaniementie 17, 02150 Espoo. The dissertation shows that society plays a decisive role in the legitimization of science and technology based on the history of the Occident. For a business enterprise, research and development activities in societies based on another than the Occidental Tradition opens strategic opportunities.
