DDI subproject Transformation through Interventions

Digital Disruption of Industry, DDI (2015-2020) studies the impacts of digitalization to the Finnish society through the lens of the industry. This six-year project is funded by the Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland. The multi-disciplinary consortium consists of ten research groups from Aalto University, ETLA, Lappeenranta University of Technology, VTT Technical Research Center of Finland and University of Turku. The project is led by Professor Martti Mäntylä from Aalto University.

The SimLab subproject Transformation through interventions focuses on intervention research, and contributes to other related parts. The research questions of SimLab’s research are:

  • How can new ecosystem knowledge be actively co-created via participative interventions?
  • How can these inherently uncertain co-creation processes be coordinated and facilitated?

SimLab's special expertise:

  • Inter-organizational knowledge co-creation, collaborative innovation
  • Mediation of conflicting interests in inter-organizational process co-creation
  • Co-creation of customer-centred digital products and business models
  • Complex inter-organizational projects under digitalization
